This component was designed to provide a high support for any kind of application oriented to the SMS Environment.
Short Message Service (SMS) is a service made available on most digital mobile phone that permits the sending of short messages between mobile phones.
SMS was originally designed as part of the GSM digital mobile phone standard, but is now available on a wide range of networks, including 3G networks.
The Short Message Peer to Peer protocol (SMPP) is a protocol for exchanging SMS messages between SMS peer entities such as Short Message Service Centres. It is often used to allow third parties (e.g. content suppliers like news organisations) to submit messages, often in bulk.
If you don't have access to some SMSC or gateway, you can contact with Simplewire at (http://www.simplewire.com/services/smpp/)
Simplewire's SMPP gateway implements both versions (3.3 and 3.4) of the SMPP protocol. All types of data traffic are supported including text messages, delivery receipts, source address, binary data, unicode text messages, EMS (Enhanced Message Service), MMS (Multimedia Message Service), and much more.
